Washington's Truck Parking Information Management System (TPIMS)
Overview
The electronic TPIMS system provides real-time information to truck drivers on truck parking availability at public rest areas and weigh stations along Washington's I-5 corridor. It is designed to help truck drivers and fleet managers better plan their stops: improving safety, reducing unauthorized parking, and supporting compliance with hours-of-service (HOS) regulations. This system was developed by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
How It Works
TPIMS uses a combination of roadside detection technologies to monitor available parking space and share that information with truck drivers via an app you can access from your electronic devices or through in-cab systems.
Deployment Locations
TPIMS detection equipment is active at select public facilities along I-5, including:
More sites will be added soon - stay tuned for updates as the system expands.
